5.0 STUDENT SKILLING CONTINUUM OFFERING TO ADDRESS EMPLOYABILITY ISSUES
The key challenge thus is to
essentially design a solution that significantly improves the chances of a
student successfully moving through the various steps in the hiring process and
finally landing an employment opportunity. In order to do this TALENTEDGE has
developed a Student Skill Continuum Offerings that takes a holistic view and
addresses the challenge through a chronological process, illustrated in the
model below
Details of
the individual components are describes as follows
5.1 Employability Skill Assessment
The
employability Skill Test is a uniqueand comprehensive test to evaluate pre final
or finalyear students ontheir "Key Employability Skills"
whichpotential employers look for in a candidate.Students are first required to
register themselves, atleast seven days prior to the planned test date. The registered
students will undergo the EmployabilitySkill Test from assigned locations. On
the basis of test scores we will be able to determine the areas where the students
would be advised to on required skills to beacquired to leverage a range of
employment opportunitiesand potential employers.
The initial
assessment is followed by a period of technical training and HR interventions
post which the students are encouraged to take the test again to demonstrate to
themselves the extent to which they have been able to bridge the skill gaps
though the interventions provided.
5.2 Technical Re-Skilling and Cross-Skilling
The technical
training component offered by TALENTEDGE, in its entirety, is aimed at
improving employability. The streams offered have been carefully selected post
extensive industry research. Courses and curriculum has been designed basis
inputs from industry leaders to ensure that what is being taught is what is
relevant and needed by employers today. To this end, the offerings have been
limited to 3 key streams in IT namely Cloud Computing, Information Security and
Mobile Application and Technology that have substantial job generation
capabilities and where the need for skilled human capital is getting larger by
the day.
